Boys Town National Research Hospital's EIPA Diagnostic Center is offering a new intensive summer training program to help you improve your interpreting skills. This is a three-day program that incorporates both teaching and extensive hands-on practical training. Instructors include individuals who are Deaf and hearing who work in the EIPA Diagnostic Center and have first-hand knowledge of the skills interpreters need to improve their work in the classroom. Participants will be expected to participate in some activities using sign language only with no voice support. No voice interpretation will be provided. Each topic will be introduced and fully explained and participants will then be guided through a variety of hands-on activities to demonstrate their skills. The video conference will be held July 28-30, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time) with a half-hour break for lunch.
